On an unrelated note, Emma asked SWMBO and I what our highlights of 2005 were. She was rather stuck for an answer and couldn’t come up with anything immediately. I said that I thought that having a son was quite a highlight of the year. To which the reply was " oh yeah, we did that didn’t we."
Grammar police – it should be ‘SWMBO and me’ – sorry, and this from the girl who can’t spell beech!
Ah, now Emma we could argue that point for ages, but I would still be right. My case for arguing that “SWMBO and I” is the correct form over “SWMBO and me” is that my Mum says so. And you disagree with her at your peril.
