Ten Days to Go

To the World Cup. I’m very excited, but not in a Bruce McAvaney kind of way – because he’s a twunt.

Here at What’s Doing we are loosening up the vocal cords for that all important singing of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot". Lets just say that we are quietly confident.

Mainly that the mighty England will turn up. Anything else, including winning matches, is too hard to predict.

  1. The, Wallabies jersy has been purchased (Anniversary pressie from Mrs P), the throat warmed up and prepared to be liberally lubricated with brown bubly stuff.

Yes I am getting prepared for what will possibly be the biggest sporting weekend of my life: Going to the Opening Ceremony of Friday, Watching Bathurst Qualifying and associated races on Saturday, the Bathurst 1000 Race on Sunday, to be immediatly followed by the final F1 race of the year in Japan which will decide the world championship.

What is EmmyP doing that weekend? Who knows ?

  2. At least your wallabies jersey will be nice and pristine. Because, lets face it, it won’t be getting much wear past the quarter finals.

I haven’t gone for a replica of the new England jersey as they just look plain silly on fat blokes like me. For reference see Steve Thompson.

  3. I hope to be enjoying Reeve hospitality for the opening ceremony – and we all know that they do an excellent opening ceremony. Remember the Olympics – chocolate gold medals, torch relay up the street! However, it won’t be the same without the Todd party, and for me no brown or white bubbly stuff

  4. Black always suits every occaision, and mine will be a nice wee number with a silver fern on the chest. (courtesy of Mum for my b’day this year).
